چکیده

The development of the new chiral ligands for use in asymmetric catalytic reactions has drawn considerable interest in the last 10 years. In this area, palladiumcatalyzed allylic substitution reactions have been shown to be effective tools for the construction of carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bond1 formation, and several efficient enantioselective catalysts such as C2and C1symmetric bidentate chiral ligands1b and non-C2-symmetric2 ligands such as phosphineoxazoline3 have been explored for these reactions. Oxathianes,4 however, have not been studied extensively as chiral ligands, and to the best of our knowledge, they have been used only in asymmetric carbonyl epoxidations.5 In this paper, we report the synthesis of novel norbornane-based phos-

Design of bifunctional chiral phenanthroline ligand with Lewis basic site for palladium-catalyzed asymmetric allylic substitution.

Conceptually new bifunctional chiral ligands were developed. The axially chiral N,N-bidentate phenanthroline ligand (S)-1 was found to be effective for Pd-catalyzed asymmetric allylic substitution of allyl acetate and dialkyl malonate. The intramolecular Lewis basic group from the hydroxybinaphthyl structure of (S)-1 played a pivotal role in the high reactivity and enantioselectivity.

Chalcogen-Containing Oxazolines in the Palladium-Catalyzed Asymmetric Allylic Alkylation

The search for new ligands in asymmetric catalysis is a field of continuing interest. To facilitate practical applications, new ligands should be easy to prepare from simple and easily available starting materials. In this context, the use of chiral nitrogen compounds bearing an organochalcogen moiety and their metal complexes have gained increased importance in the field of asymmetric catalysi...

Efficient palladium-catalyzed asymmetric allylic alkylation of ketones and aldehydes.

Palladium-catalyzed asymmetric allylic alkylation of ketones, via enamines generated in situ as nucleophiles, were carried out smoothly with chiral metallocene-based P,N-ligands. Under the same conditions, however, reactions of aldehydes could hardly be observed. Subsequently, this obstacle was resolved by using chiral metallocene-based P,P-ligands. Both ketones and aldehydes afforded excellent...

Pd-catalyzed enantioselective allylic substitution: new strategic options for the total synthesis of natural products.

The enantioselective version of palladium-catalyzed allylic substitution, sometimes referred to as AAA (asymmetric allylic alkylation), has emerged as a powerful synthetic tool.[1] Since the first report of a stoichiometric AAA reaction in the 1970s,[2] it took almost 20 years of research until effective catalytic systems based on chiral ligands were developed. The major challenge in conducting...

Ruthenium-catalyzed regio- and enantioselective allylic substitution with water: direct synthesis of chiral allylic alcohols.

Enantioselective allylic substitution catalyzed by transitionmetal complexes is an important process in organic synthesis. For many years, mainly palladium complexes that contain chiral ligands have been employed as efficient catalysts in these reactions. Recent studies have demonstrated that chiral catalysts based on other transition metals show different regioselectivity in the synthesis of b...
